About Val Gardena

When you ski Val Gardena you have to keep in mind that this is The Gruppo Sella (Sella Gruppe), a large mountain massif stands in the region’s centre. To the west, the Val Gardena is the main ski valley with 176km of pistes.
Val Gardena  is composed of 3 villages: Selva (Wolkenstein, Santa Cristina (St. Christina) and Ortisei (St. Ulrich). Encircling the Gruppo Sella, Val Gardena ski is linked with Colfosco, Corvara, Arabba and Canazei. All Val Gardena ski villages are connected by a very good free ski shuttle service which runs all day long.
Val Gardena is a completely self-contained ski vacation area, complete with fine dining, day spa’s and all outdoor activities you would associate with winter sports.
This scenic village in the mountains offers restaurants, nightspots, shops and all winter sports. A
breathtaking ski vacation is Val Gardena.
The stunning rock formations provide the skier and snowboarder with terrain that cannot be seen on any other ski trip in the world.
The village itself is welcoming to all vacationers and still contains many of the original chalets and winding alleys Italian mountain villages are famous for.
This intermediate circuit, encircling the Sella massif, is the Sella Ronda Tour which can be followed in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. Four passes and 26km of piste is the minimum involved in a complete circuit, for which you should allow six hours.
